Work at FPC
If you would like to use your talents to make Jesus visible to the people of San Antonio and the wider world, First Presbyterian Church San Antonio might be the place for you to work!
Leaders from the Congregation
At FPC, members (called Covenant Partners) can take on important leadership roles like Elders, Deacons, or Trustees. Each year, the congregation nominates dedicated members who regularly attend worship and actively support the church. Volunteers also help on Committees, often led or supported by Elders. These roles need special skills and dedication.
The Session & Elders
At FPC, the Session, made up of Pastors and Elders, governs the church. Led by the Senior Pastor and Clerk of Session, these elected Elders meet monthly to manage church affairs and oversee the congregation's spiritual life. They lead in worship, teaching, mission, evangelism, and care, ensuring the church remains a strong, nurturing community.

The Board of Trustees
Trustees manage the church's finances, property, and buildings. Trustees are chosen for their high character and skills in areas like finance, construction, building maintenance, and legal issues related to non-profit organizations. They ensure the church's physical and financial well-being.
The Board of Deacons
LEARN MORE ABOUT CONGREGATIONAL CAREAt FPC, Deacons lead ministries that foster fellowship and provide care both within and beyond our congregation. They may also assist in preaching and teaching as needed. Elected by the congregation and overseen by the Session, Deacons play a crucial role in supporting our church community and providing congregational care.
The Deacons participate in training focused on praying with others. They incorporate these teachings into their ministry, engaging in heartfelt prayers with the ministers before services and being available for prayer with the congregation after each service, during home visits, and in every aspect of church life. The Deacons understand that prayer is a vital aspect and blessing of life in the Christian community, and they would love to pray alongside you. If you have specific prayer requests, please don’t hesitate to reach out and let them know. You can share prayer requests with Judy Kruger or join a Deacon during after-worship prayer.
